We’re working with a well-established Full Fibre ISP with a great reputation and culture. Operating and providing full fibre to customers around East Anglia and Essex, they are continuing their growth with a number of key hires over the coming months.
We are currently looking for a Quantity Surveyor to join the team, this role is based out of Colchester but allows for Hybrid working.
The principle role of the Quantity Surveyor (QS) is to manage the costs relating to engineering projects across all the build projects and schemes being completed in the Build arena.
Roles & responsibilities:
- Complete field site walks outs with Build Partners and internal Build teams to validate all claims and invoicing
- Work with Build Partners to quantify and validate all financial claims and invoicing
- First point of contact in QS cost management in support of the Area Build Managers and PMs
- Responsible for review cost estimates/cost plans identifying levels of estimating uncertainty to allow effective setting, monitoring, forecasting and control of financial limits for projects.
- Review/approval or rejection of the contractor monthly Application for Payment.
- Agree allowance/disallowance of the Compensation Events with Build Partners.
- Prepare monthly commercial reports.
- Agree final account assessment.
- Update schedule cost data sets to achieve consistency, accuracy and alignment and to enable the capture and subsequent use of outturn data.
- Complete cost and expenditure planning / benchmarking as required.
- Carry out cost impact analysis of Change Requests.
- Input into monthly Supplier Performance meetings and information
Required experience:
- Degree qualified
- Experience in working on Telecoms or Infrastructure projects
- Experience in NEC3/NEC4 or forms of construction contracts
- Experience in managing QS contractors on project
- Understanding and experience of commercial estimating and benchmarking
