The Role

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Purchasing Administrator to join our clients Purchasing Team based in Bromsgrove. Reporting to the Senior Buyer, you will be responsible for the day to day administration of plant and material related transactions and activities. Liaising with suppliers and site teams to deliver a managed procurement process for material purchases and plant hire.

The main duties and responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Liaising with site and management teams and suppliers to determine plant and material requirements
  • Placement of plant and material Purchase Orders on Company system.
  • Generating and updating accurate Plant utilisation reports.
  • Liaising with purchase ledger to remedy invoice queries.
  • Establishment and maintenance of relationships with suppliers to maximise the profitability of the business.
  • Provision of professional and service driven assistance ensuring that material and plant orders are expedited in a timely manner.
  • Periodic review of the businesses hired plant commitments with management, site and commercial teams ensuring that contract committed costs are accurate and within budget.
  • Processing of plant and material paperwork.
  • Carrying out any other reasonable task required by the department or business.


The Candidate

An ideal candidate will have a strong background in administration and have worked in a busy and thriving environment. It would be beneficial if you have had previous experience working in procurement or ideally in a similar role. You will be proactive and have the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, regularly re-prioritising workloads to meet the needs of the business whilst delivering excellent service with accuracy and attention to detail. It goes without saying that you will have excellent communication skills and enjoy building relationships with internal and external suppliers and Stakeholders. You will have exceptional IT skills in particular Word, Excel and Outlook.
